 In case anyone's been to Mexico in 2006...

excel sheet provided.

If you can't open the attached excel sheet, I've listed the questions below...

Questions:      
Purpose of trip: Bird watching/photography exclusively (E),  principally (P)    
Name of tour company, tour guide and/or travelers       
Mexican states visited  
Dates of trip   
Number of "person-days" (for example, 2 people x 10 days = 20 person-days)      
What kind of lodging did you use? (state percentages if necessary): (1) private 
house, (2) 1 to 2 stars, (3) 3 to 4 stars, (4) 5 stars or higher        
If applicable, state estimated percentage of travelers from different  
nationalidaties (for example. 60% US, 37% Canadian, 2% British, 1% Mexican)     
 
How much money was spent in Mexico? (state if given in US dollars or pesos; 
don't include international flights but please include tips and souvenirs)  
Names/contacts of any businesses you might have encountered which arose mainly 
thanks to birdwatching tourism   
Additional comments related to birdwatching tourism in Mexico

who is doing some research on the economic impact of birding in Mexico. He is 
just interested in trips you might have made to Mexico in 2006.  You may know 
that Hector has helped enormously with the PIF Mexican species assessment 
project.

Would you like to know if birdwatching tourism is really having a significant 
economic impact in Mexico?

I am researching this issue and will send the results to this listserv in a few 
months, but in the meantime I ask that each of you help me by filing out the 
small questionnaire attached. Please consider all birding trips made in 2006 in 
Mexico. Please use as many columns as you like for your answers. If various 
birders travelled together and the combined expenditures are reported in the 
questionnaire, please indicate names (so that I don´t count a person´s expenses 
twice if an individual sent his data separately).
