[birdky] nesting birds question

I received a call today from someone over at the VA Hospital (UK Campus in
Lexington) who says there's a pair of birds nesting at the base of a tree in
a parking lot there. I'm guessing from her description that they are
probably killdeers. The three eggs have not hatched yet but she's very
worried that the birds or their babies will get run over by the cars as
there's a lot of traffic in that lot. If anyone would like to contact this
person with some advice, I will include her email at the end of this
posting. For instance: Can the eggs be moved? (They're just sitting in
gravel on the ground.) Will the birds "attack" her if she tries to move
them? Anything else you would suggest? Please respond to Ann Davies at
anne.davies@xxxxxx , and maybe cc to me so I know what to do as well. Thank
you all!
