I've been gathering together bird poems for the last
several years, and I've come to the point where I'm
reaching out to other birders for further literary
contributions.  My long-term goal is an anthology of
bird poetry.  So far, I've collected about 500 bird
poems.  If you have a favorite bird poem, read on....

I have a few criteria: birds must be North American,
that is, on the AOU checklist.  The bird(s) in the
poem must be species specific (i.e. "Cerulean Warbler"
not just "warbler").  The poem should be relatively
short.  The poem can be original or by another author,
and that author can be living or dead.  The poem can
be unpublished or published, but if the latter, author
and publishing information must be included.

If you'd like to contribute a poem you've read by a
bard famous or obscure, or a poem you've written, or
you'd like more information on the project, please

in any final published work.
