My nephew, Stratton Hatfield, and I were able to observe 3 Henslow's
Sparrows off the Industrial Parkway near I64 in Boyd County on Saturday,
June 10th; we heard additional birds. We have photographs if anyone is
interested. I was visiting my parents and don't often bird in Kentucky,
and would very much like to know how scarce these birds are. They were
lifers for both Stratton and myself.
We saw Northern Bobwhite, Blue Grosbeak, Eastern Meadowlarks,
Yellow-breasted Chats and Prairie Warblers in the same location. We
also birded Carter Caves if anyone is interested; numerous Cerulean
Warblers were the highlight for us.
