If there is anyone who would be interested in trying to see some Barn Owls,
there is a family of young on the verge of fledging from an attic in New
Haven, Nelson County. The owls are nesting at the home of Charles and Cindy
Lemons. You can check to see if it is OK to come by by phone: 502/549-6310,
or by email: lemonsc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx  The Lemons live in a large, historic
red-brick home at 153 Main Street, right on US31E at the jct of that road
and KY 52 in downtown New Haven. It is right across the street from a
filling station. This is at DeLorme p. 49, block E7.

The parents have been visible after dark as they making feeding trips to a
hole in the roof overhang, and the young, which are now flying around in the
attic, may fledge any time, remaining in trees in the yard for a few days.

I would caution anyone visiting to try to be quiet and still if the birds
appear to be bothered by your presence.
