[birdky] Red River Gorge Report
- From: FrankRenfrow@xxxxxxx

We just returned from a four day trip to the Red River Gorge, and had quite
a bit of luck. A Chestnut-sided Warbler that was present near Sky Bridge in
May was still singing on territory, we could easily find the bird on three
visits to the site (6/9-6/11). There also seems to be a continuing expansion
of
Swainson's Warblers with multiple individuals along the Swift Camp and
Parched Corn Creeks with one even singing right next to Sky Bridge Road (near
the
"geological area" overlook). We also had a Swainson's Warbler along the Middle
Fork of the Red River less than 2 miles south of the Wolfe Co. line (6/9 and
6/10) along KY 11 (thus less than 2 miles from Natural Bridge SP). A pair of
Red-breasted Nuthatches seems to have a well-hidden nest near the Rock
Bridge area.
