[birdky] sloughs: Moorhen and mowed dikes

Wednesday (6/23) at the Sloughs, Sauerheber unit, I saw a Common
Moorhen. It was near the same location I saw some last year. Back down
the 2nd road to the left, then walked to where the old duck trap area
is.
Also they have mowed all the dikes (except the newest dike) and that
makes it a lot easier to check out the impoundments. Although I didn't
see anything unusual today (6/25).
It seems that the Blue Grosbeaks are becoming more common than they
have been in several years. But, the Dickcissel population seems to be
down.
