[birdky] RPT: Late Warblers

It's amazing what a little decent weather will do for migrant birds.
Although the past few days have been stormy, the passage of a cool front
following essentially THREE full weeks of southerly flow allowing birds to
fly over us resulted in a couple of interesting late migrants to drop out.

Yesterday, a nice Canada Warbler was singing loudly on the farm in eastern
Jefferson County.

This morning as I was loading up the car for the trip to Frankfort, the song
of a Connecticut Warbler caught my ear. I walked down and got a great look
at this handsome fellow as he sang.

These are the first two migrants I've heard around the yard in nearly two
weeks!

Last evening, I found a bob-tailed fledgling Baltimore Oriole perched in a
fallen branch that was the result of Sunday night's storms. One of his
siblings was calling high from a tree above him. Not sure if the nest was
somewhere in the huge branch that had fallen or if this little guy had just
been swept out of the nest by the wind.
