Chaney Lake in Warren County is receding very quickly
now and probably has only a couple of days remaining
before being dry.
Several broods of duckings were following their
mothers and busily snapping up insects from the waters
surface. At least two broods of Blue-winged Teal were
present with one consisting of twelve ducklings.
Several broods of Mallards and Wood Ducks were also
present.
Approximately a dozen Great Blue Herons, including
several juveniles, were feasting on the easily caught
fish. A Pied-billed Grebe was heard vocalizing.
