Shortly after I had moved to Kentucky I observed a scissor-tailed flycatcher in
Hart County, in May 1979 or 1980. This was before I knew about KOS, rare bird
reports, or even keeping good records. I remember getting a good look at the
bird, being amazed, and watching it fly away over the horizon toward the
southeast. It certainly wasn't nesting.
I could get details if anyone keeping state records wants them.
