[birdky] Cedar Waxwing

In the last three weeks we have heard of three waxwings being found dead.
Also, there was one listed on your site that was injured. We found one on the
road near our mailbox in Shelby Co., a friend found one on their wildlife
farm in Shelby Co. and our son found one near his porch in Barren Co.
Is this unusual? We have never heard of, nor seen a dead or injured waxwing.
They generally do nest on our property, or did until our sugar maple died.
The waxwings are extraordinarily beautiful!! Their feathers look like skin
with so many different colors blending together. We can clearly see why they
are called waxwings, with the drops of what truly look like red wax at the
end of the wing feathers. It may be the most beautiful bird ever. But I would
rather have not found that out by having one killed here.
