A pair of Black-necked Stilts was present at McElroy
Lake again today. They were feeding in the ditch near
the southern end of the field.  These birds may well
have been present yesterday and in an area of the
ditch that wasn't visible. 

Semipalmated Sandpiper, Plover, and White-rumped
Sandpiper numbers were approximately the same as
yesterday, and at least two Ruddy Ducks and several
Blue-winged Teal were also present. 

The ditch and a couple of small puddles were all that
remained. Several broods of Mallards were following
their mother around wondering where their water went. 

Chaney Lake has begun falling and habitat is improving
there. Several Blue-winged Teal and a Pied-billed
Grebe were observed.

The water level at Morgan's Pond in Christian County
is still relatively stable, and a few Semipalmated and
White-rumped Sandpipers, as well as Semipalmated
Plovers were observed feeding in the grassy edges. A
pair of Ruddy Ducks and several Blue-winged Teal
remained there.
