[birdky] Vulture eyesight

While moving hay rolls, one of the rolls was lopsided and I was unable to
penetrate it with the hay fork. I got a chunk of dead wood from the nearby
woods and attempted to use this to level up the hay roll enough so the fork
would jab straight in. After several tries I finally got that roll moved. When
I drove the tractor back over the hill for the next roll, 2 Turkey Vultures
were sitting on the ground beside the chunk of dead wood. I drove over to the
spot to ascertain that no dead animal had been concealed beneath the hay roll.
There was none. Those vultures just mistook the chunk of dead wood for a dead
animal. That doesn't seem to me to indicate that vultures have such acute
vision.
