Alison and I must have left the 739 transient lake moments before Mark arrived.
This lake is about a half mile long by a quarter mile wide, which would make it
about 75 acres or so in area. McElroy, on Saturday, was at least a mile long by
nearly a half mile wide, making it 300 acres or so in area. We saw most of the
same birds reported by Mark except that the Dowitcher we saw was a Short-billed
(confirmed by Dave from pic). We also heard Dickcissels singing in that same
meadow Mark mentioned.
