[birdky] Fulvous Whistling-Duck

The Adams TN Fulvous Whistling-Duck reported earlier today by Mark Bennett was
still at about the same spot by the same pond at 2:00 this afternoon. I had it
in the scope when a car pulled up. Oh oh, I thought, we are about to be run
off. But it was Phillip Casteel & Mark Hackney from Nashville, who saw Mark's
post on TN birds. We all saw the duck before it waddled off behind some weeds
and disappeared.
There were also 3 Black-bellied Plovers, a Semi-palmated Plover, some
Killdeers, a Great Blue Heron, a Green Heron, a score or so Canada Geese and a
Coot. I got some recognizable pics of the duck and the Black-bellied Plovers.
Phillip Casteel said it was his understanding that it is okay with the
landowner for birders to stop at the gravel barn parking lot but not to cross
the fence.
Frank Lyne frank@xxxxxxxxxxx near Dot, KY not too far north of Adams, TN.
