The Rose Breasted Grossbeaks showed up in Central City on Monday at my feeder
and I still have some here, although there has been enough variance in the
amount of rose on the breast of a couple of males to make me believe the ones
on Monday are different than the ones here this weekend. I had a total of 5 on
Monday, 4 males, and one female. Now I have two males and one male. Two cedar
waxwings showed up Saturday morning to evaluate the readiness of the mulberrys
on the tree in the back - not ripe enough I guess, since they didn't stick
around. Years ago, friend told me he had evening grossbeaks at his feeder in
Paducah in migration. I have never seen one and don't hear them mentioned
much. Do they not come through this area?
