Melissa and I took advantage of a beautiful afternoon in Fulton County. Our
thrills of the day were Mississippi Kite and Bobolinks galore.
We stopped at the Obion bottoms to check on shorebird habitat. There were a
few wet spots but very few shorebirds.
Listed below are the highlights for the day.
Pied-billed Grebe
Great Egret
Cattle Egret
Blue-winged Teal
Hooded Merganser
Black Vulture
Mississippi Kite - 2 near nesting site
Wild Turkey
Greater yellowlegs
Spotted Sandpiper
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Red-headed Woodpecker
Hairy Woodpecker
Fish Crow
Prairie Warbler
Palm Warbler
Redstart
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Dickcissel
Bobolink - 50+ along the levee
What a GREAT day to be out!
