On my way from SC to Rough River State Park I saw:

   1 Green Heron(wire sitting)

At the park: The parking lot at the State Boat Dock had water covering the 
lower end of the lot.
Therefore, I was not surprised to see a shore bird bobbing its tail after 
landing  and which started to glean  the small pile of debris at the edge of 
the backwater:
Spotted Sandpiper (in breeding plumage)

Other birds at the park:

Great Crested Flycatcher
3 Red-headed woodpeckers
Baltimore Oriole
Eastern Wood Peewee
2 Tree Swallows
2 Rough-winged Swallows
1 Barn Swallow
1 Purple Martin
Warbling Vireo
Eastern Kingbird(earliest sighting in area was 5-11-03)

Chipping Sparrows and Eastern Bluebirds in generous supply

Two families of Canada Geese:
   2 adults with 4 fluffy goslings
   2 adults with 5 fluffy goslings
