110 species were recorded by 8 observers for the Pulaski County
migration count on Saturday. Highlights included a Virginia Rail, Great
Egret, 22 warbler species including Swainson's Warbler and 3 Henslow's
Sparrows seen at Beech Grove Ridge. The Ano Strip Mines weren't covered,
so the Henslow's there weren't counted.

Hwy. 1003 is a great place to get whips and chucks. Going south on 1003
from Hwy. 80 you get Chuck-wills-widows, then around mile marker 6 the
Whip-poor-wills take over. Thanks Scott Marsh for finding these birds!

Except for the wind, it was a great day to be out birding. Thanks
