Since Ian hasn't posted yet about yesterday (Sunday) in Bourbon County, I'll go
ahead and do it:

Five of us watched the *pair* of scissor-tailed flycatchers yesterday
afternoon. Two of us, (Bill and me), had to leave after about 25 minutes.
Ian's party may have stayed longer?

Before the first flycatcher made its appearance at about 4:15 p.m., all five of
us had been searching about 1-1/4 hours. During that time period, both Mr.
Watkins No. 1 and his brother, (Mr. Watkins No. 2), stopped to greet us and
encourage us to keep looking. Mr. Watkins No. 1 assured us that the bird would
appear and that it often sits on the fence which runs perpendicular to the
road, across from the sycamore. Mr. Watkins No.2, (who lives in the really old
house just north of the nest tree and on the opposite side of the road), was
pleased to report that he had seen the bird on Saturday, at 12:52 p.m. He gave
us his e-mail address, for the mailing of digital photos. Both of the Mr.
Watkinses thought that it was "real cool" for faraway birders to be coming to
see their bird.

After the first bird appeared, we saw the second one within a couple of
minutes. We watched both birds work the fencelines on both sides of the road,
right there near the sycamore. At one point, one of the birds glided to within
about 20 feet of Bill and me. We didn't see either of the birds doing any
nest-construction chores -- just eating bugs.

Maybe Ian can supplement this report with anything he can recall.

Thanks, Ecklunds!! What a treat on our wedding anniversary!
