Thanks, Hap, for reminding me that there are cicadas on both 13 and 17 year
life cycles . . . and I think I've also heard of the occasional odd-ball
brood (probably the BPB-morph type) that somewhere along the line got all
messed up and isn't on either "normal" schedule. These com- binations and
exceptions are apparently what cause an emergence of a brood somewhere just
about every year.
