Yesterday Tom Mills and I found a singing Golden-
winged Warbler one mile west of the intersection
of Rt. 478 and Indian Knob Rd. in McCreary Co.,
KY. This site is about 4 miles from the site
where I found a singing male GWWA on May 14,
2002. The songs of the two males were not the
same, so two individuals were involved. Both
sites have dense undergrowth about 5-10 feet
high and scattered dead pines which the warblers
use for song perches.

The area around the ponds at the McCreary County
"airport" had three singing Willow Flycatchers and one
calling bird, probably a female; 5+ singing Grasshopper
Sparrows plus at least one female with one bird carrying
food for young; and one Horned Lark.
