80 + Purple Martins (mainly around transient ponding areas at sides of Vesper
Ln.)
40 + Rough-wing Swallows
20 + Barn Swallows
Blue Jays
Am. Crows (being mobbed by grackles)
E. Bluebirds
5 + N. Mockingbirds (one carrying nesting material)
N. Cardinals
Song Sp's.
70 + Red-wing Blackbirds
E. Meadowlarks
plus one Red Fox.
BTW, the two story log cabin (c. 1832) at end of Vesper Ln. is a good example
of the
craftsmanship of that pioneering era. Owner spoke of dismantling the cabin and
reassembling it at a suitable and more accessible location.
