Saturday 5-11-2002
Today while visiting in Louisville, I took a morning hike thru Beargrass
Creek Nature Preserve / Joe Creason Park. The number of warbler species
observed were not that great, but numbers of individuals of certain species
was interesting.
Warblers observed:
Golden-winged Warbler (1) female
Tennessee Warbler (5)
Nashville Warbler (6)
Chestnut-sided Warbler (3)
Magnolia Warbler (20+) many singing males
Cape May Warbler (4) three males, one female
Yellow-rumped Warbler (2)
Blackburnian Warbler (1) male
Blackpoll Warbler (8) two females
American Redstart (15+) many males
Common Yellowthroat (2)
Wilson's Warbler (1) male
also observed:
Philadelphia Vireo (2), Lincoln's Sparrow (1)
