[birdky] turkey vulture feather

An amazing story - yesterday my nine-year-old son was riding his bike down
our street when a huge black feather drifted down in front of him. He
stopped his bike and immediately noticed a turkey vulture flying right
overhead. I wonder how many people have actually seen a turkey vulture drop
a feather in flight! This feather is at least 14 inches long or more.

For some reason the turkey vultures seem to roost in the tall trees at the
end of our street every year in early spring, for about a week. It's like a
stopping-off point for them, perhaps as they migrate back northward. (I
don't know, but it's pretty cool!)
