I cannot remember if I told everyone that the eagle nest at Cave Run Lake was
not successful. During the week of March 17 we had winds and the nest seemed
to have drooped on the left side, much the same as it did on the right side in
2006. Fred Busroe watched for quite some time and did not see any activity,
thus leading one to believe it had been abandoned.
However, good news! The second nest has been located and seems there is a
lot of activity. Apparently the eagles really like Twin Knobs Campground
because this nest can also be seem from the campground. It can be seen from
J-28.
I noticed Cliff Swallow under the bridge at Cave Run this morning and Tree
Swallows.
