I managed to get my first trip to the Sloughs in several weeks.
3:45PM to 7:30PM
Clear, light wind, 80º
I visited in order: 268 slough, Wood Tract, Shorebird Unit, Hardy
Slough, Gentle Pond area
Highlights:
Bald Eagles:
1 perched on the east edge of Hardy Slough
2 perched near the south nest
1 on the north nest
Cinnamon Teal - no luck, it might have been at Wood Tract but I
couldn't find it.
Wood Tract & 268 Slough:
Blue-winged Teal
Green-winged Teal
Shovelers
Greater & Lesser Yellowlegs
Pectoral Sandpiper
Solitary Sandpiper
Wilson's Snipe
Warblers:
The early spring Ps are back:
Prothronotary
Palm
Parula
and several Yellow-rumps
And Sparrows near Gentle Pond:
Winter left-overs: White-crowned, White-throated
Field Sparrows
Swamp Sparrows
Song Sparrows
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers everywhere
Lastly a Winter Wren still around.
