As I was traveling KY 504 in Elliott County from KY 32 yesterday evening
(April 10), I saw a Peregrine Falcon. Got a really good look at the face. I
was surprised but got to thinking the area is bordered on both sides by
sandstone clifflines (as the crow flies). Could it be that somewhere in that
really large area, there is a falcon nest? It would seem to be a better place
that the bridge in Greenup...

The day had been perfect with birding while working on the Morehead section
of the Cumberland Ranger District. Several ducks at Clear Creek Lake. Black
and White Warbler and Worm eating Warbler sang while to installed signs on a
trail. At the dam the grebes are still present.
