Highlights from trips to Shanty Hollow Lake and Chaney
Lake in Warren County are listed below.

Shanty Hollow  21 April

Great Blue Heron making feeding trips to area where
nested last summer

Warblers included N Parula, Yellow-throated, Pine,
Prairie, Cerulean, Worm-eating, Ovenbird, La
Waterthrush, Ky.  Both tanagers and Gr Crested
Flycatcher were also present as well as displaying
Broad-winged Hawks.

Interesting butterflies included 11 Harvesters, Pepper
and Salt Skippers, West Virginia Whites, and Gemmed
Satyrs.  This must be a great year for Harvesters.

Cool dragonflies observed were Swamp Darner and Blue
Corporal.
