[birdky] lazy finch boyfriend?

A male house finch sits on my feeder and feeds a female-like house
finch. Or could this be a juvenile bird? If this is male-female
pair-bonding business, then it seems very strange to me because the male
isn't working to do something that the female can't do. Actually, she
literally has to struggle to stay in this awkward place on the feeder while
the male jams food down her throat. It would be easier for her to eat at a
perch without his help. I think she's a rather cheap date - she should
demand a better meal from this boyfriend of hers. There are bugs in my
garden. Does anyone know what this mystery bird probably is -
female-in-courtship or juvenile?

Cheers, Amy
Louisville, KY
