A few species of waterbirds continue to linger at
Chaney Lake in Warren County with the following
species present the past couple of days.

Canada Goose
Green-winged Teal
Mallard 
Blue-winged Teal
Northern Shoveler
Gadwall  30
Ring-necked Duck 
Pieb-billed Grebe

Shorebird numbers were much reduced the past couple of
days with the following species present today.

American Golden-Plover 4
Greater Yellowlegs 8
Solitary Sandpiper 
Pectoral Sandpiper 10
Wilson's Snipe 30+

A single Baird's Sandpiper was also present at Chaney
today.  This was a different bird than was present on
March 31st, distinguished by plumage features.  The
bird today had less streaking on the breast and fewer
bold dark centers to the scapulars giving a less
spangled appearance to the upperparts.  Photos were
obtained.

Pectoral Sandpipers were also present at Petros (2)
and Walton's (8) today.  Approximately 10 snipe and a
Pied-billed Grebe were at Petros as well.  A Northern
Harrier and 3 Vesper Sparrows were observed at Chaney
along with several Rusty Blackbirds.  Savannah
Sparrows are still present in good numbers scattered
in the area.
