This morning Les and I went about halfway up the mountain via the creek
and saw:
Blue-winged warbler, cerulean warbler, yellow-throated warbler,
ovenbird, Philadelphia vireo (m and f), wood thrush, indigo bunting,
blue-headed vireo, red-eyed vireo, hairy woodpecker, pileated wp, wt
sparrow, and 20+ others. Great morning for wildflowers also. As the
hollow narrowed, both sides of the mountain were covered with a blue
mist of wild sweet Williams and blue-eyed Marys. I guess we could say
that it is our "William and Mary Hollow", eh? Many white and red
trillium sprinkled flats and banks. And, we pulled back dried leaves
from the wild ginger to glimpse its maroon blossom.
