I added 3 new boxes this year. Currently have 16 Bluebird boxes + 3 larger 
boxes intended for Kestrels/owls.
  8 boxes have nests built  by Bluebirds, certain of 7 Bluebird territories. 5 
boxes with Bluebird eggs, 4 eggs per box.
  1 box claimed by Tree Swallows after some contention with House Sparrows, 
nest building in progress. 
  1 box with stick nest small cup at top, built and abandoned, I think, by 
House Wren.
  4 boxes claimed by House Sparrows, ongoing birth control in effect.
  2 boxes unclaimed.
  The Kestrels disappeared in late March at about the same time I painted the 
roof of the barn they normally nest in. I may have scared them off, however, 
they were not scared off the year I built a shed on the same barn. My 
suspicions as to their disappearance lean toward one of the many passersby who 
go armed, but I am probably best off being left in the dark on that question. 
In any case, a pair of Kestrels has now reappeared in my barn lot. It may or 
may not be all or part of the original pair.
