McElroy Lake must really have some peculiar hydrology. Today it was almost bone
dry in spite of a strong stream flowing into it through the culvert and
upwelling water from numerous small blue holes here and there on the lake bed.
We saw some tiny black fish in one of the blue holes. There were still some
Golden Plovers there today along with some Pectoral & Least Sandpipers, a few
Killdeer and at least 1 Snipe.
