[birdky] Sorry, probable goof - probably not Harlequin

After getting home and perusing the field guides, I realized I did not
eliminate the possibility of a female Greater Scaup in worn plumage. The bird
was
all alone and had it's head tucked-in most of the time (and behind the trees)
and as such appeared remarkably like the female Harlequin that I had seen
nearby in February. But on the few occasions that it lifted its head up I was
a
bit worried about the bill appearing too wide and large, and now that I
think of it, it possibly had a light eye and the white markings may have been
too
continuous above the bill. I'll try to check again tomorrow morning, but
for now it probably would not be worth a trip. You wouldn't think one could
mistake those two species, but if this was a scaup it was pretty atypically
marked as the head markings were extremely similar, with the little white
circle
on the cheek just like that harlequin. Sorry about that. Also with the water
up, the bird was quite a bit into a backwater on the Ohio side. If you do want
to look anyway, it was on Washington Street in New Richmond just east of the
center of town in a flooded backyard between mailboxes 806 and 820.
