[birdky] RPT: Feeder birds in e. Jefferson Co.

Here in eastern Jefferson Co. we have at least 11 inches of snow. I am as much
surprised by what is NOT at the feeders here as what is ... I have NO Eastern
Towhees, which is the first winter EVER I've not seen them here. I attribute
the poor food supply. Northern Cardinals are about as abundant as ever, but
White-throats and Juncos appear to be lower for such an event. The unusal
birds here today are several Brown-headed Cowbirds, about 10 Common Grackles,
and a dozen Red-winged Blackbirds ... and 3 European Starlings (a rarity
here!). There were 3 Pine Siskins in the yard early this morning, but they did
not stick around to feed for some reason. Maybe they are roosting here and
going to someone's thistle feeders during the day???
