Yesterday when I was hiking along the gravel road that starts across Highway
801 from the Shallow Flats Goose Observation Area at Cave Run Lake, I flushed
an American Woodcock that had apparently been sitting on the side of the road
(I was near the point where the gravel road turns into a dirt track).
This is a bird I've been trying to see for years, so I was really excited to
finally see one!
