A trip to Henderson County yielded few waterfowl on 4
March so I spent most of the day looking at raptors. 
Redtails have been on the move this week with
highlights of sightings below.

4 March 2007

HENDERSON COUNTY
B.j.calurus (adult dark-morph)
B.j.calurus (adult dark-intermediate morph)
B.j.calurus type (adult light-morph 2)
B.j.krideri type/intergrade  (adult male displaying
for B.j.borealis female.  Watching him sky-dance high
in the clear blue sky with sparkling white underparts
was breathtaking!)

Eared Grebe
Pied-billed Grebe (~60)
Rough-legged Hawk (adult dark-morph)
B.j.calurus type (adult light-morph)
B.j.harlani (partially albinistict light-morph, an
unbelievable bird!  Near Central City)
