March 3:
4 pine warblers just off the Trace in Land Between the Lakes, at the start
of Mulberry Flat Road. (Forgot to mention in yesterday's post.)
March 4
200-300 red-breasted mergansers on Lake Barkley (seen from Eureka
Campground). Saw three males doing great displays around a female.
Some of the ruddy duck males on Lake Barkley were in beautiful alternate
plumage.
3 pectoral sandpipers across the road from the Wood Tract at the Sloughs
west of Henderson.
20+ blue-winged teal, near Dance Road.
Non-birds:
Mammals seen this weekend include bobcat, mink, and red fox.
In Fulton County, heard many upland chorus frogs.
