Yesterday at Marydale there was a pair of beautiful Blue-winged Teals.
There were there early in the morning and were still there after school.
There also were 2 Eastern Phoebes but as of yet there haven¹t been any tree
swallows.
Backyard (Kenton County)
Last week during the snowstorm I had 5 Purple Finches at my feeders for the
day. It¹s been the only time this winter that I had them. I still have
about 10 Juncos coming to the feeders and had a couple of of White-crowned
sparrows there yesterday. One pair of Eastern Bluebirds has been checking
out one of the nesting boxes that I put up last year.......and about 15 feet
up from the box a pair of Red-bellied Woodpeckers have been working hard to
build a nesting cavity.....should prove interesting in the next few weeks.
