While birding around my business meeting today, I had occasion to notice an
additional motel of apparent acceptable quality.  This motel is the Best
Western/Pennyrile Inn at Morton's Gap.  The motel is at exit 37 on the
Pennyrile Parkway, about 5 miles south of Madisonville.  It is slightly
closer than the Madisonville Motels to the meeting site at Pennyrile State
Park.

Also, the Spring Inn in Dawson Springs was observed from the outside.  It is
in downtown Dawson Springs.  It is quite old, though recently refurbished on
the outside.  I did not enter it, but it did not appear to meet the quality
standards of most chain motels.  This motel would suit me fine, but it is
not for those expecting Comfort Inn Quality.
