The is a reminder that the Kentucky Ornithological Society will meet at
Pennyrile State Resort Park for its spring meeting on Friday 28 April
through Sunday 30 April 2006.  Presently, the lodge has 1 non smoking room
available for Friday and no rooms available for Saturday.  It still has 4
1-bedroom cottages and 2 2-bedroom cottages available both nights.  The
phone number for the lodge/cottages is 800-325-1711.  Evening programs will
begin at 7:00 PM Central Time, most morning field trips will begin at 8:00
AM.
 
If you have not yet made reservations and do not want to pay the cost of a
cottage or to share a cottage with friends, there is a motel of unknown
quality in Dawson Springs, about 5 miles away called the Springs Inn.  It is
located at 207 E Arcadia Ave, Dawson Springs, KY 42408; its phone number is
270-797-2029.
 
If you prefer chain motels, Madisonville is probably the best bet at about
25 miles from the park with a wide variety of motels, including a Days Inn
and Holiday Inn Express.
 
If you are a subscriber to BIRDKY and are not a member of KOS, please feel
free to attend the meeting.  All persons interested in wild birds are
welcome.  There is a 5 dollar registration fee per person.  Attendance for a
single program or field trip is also completely acceptable.
 
Program details will be mailed with the February issue of THE WARBLER later
this month an posted on the KOS web site shortly thereafter.
