Brainard, responding to my last posting, noted that Tundra Swans were  
still being seen at Sauerheber.
He was right!

Today, 3/1, after jury duty, and due to the beautiful weather, I had  
to go birding again.

3/1 11:45AM to 2:45PM, high thin overcast, 72º, and in the open a  
good south wind.

I started out at Sauerheber:
Canadas 20
 Am. Coots 6
Mallards 200
Pintails 300
Greenwings 10
Shovelers 50
Ring-necked Ducks 2

Next Woods Tract
TUNDRA SWANS 34
Canadas 50
Pintails 20
Mallards 20
(Obs. platform stairs still down.)

Anderson Pond
Pied-billed Grebes 3

Crenshaw Tract
Mallards 20
Wood Ducks 10
Canadas 10
Am. Widgeons 20
Am. Woodcock 1
Rufous-sided Towhee 5

Horseshoe Road slough
Bald Eagle, 1 imm
Canadas 40
Snow Geese 70
Greater White-fronted Geese 100

Wilson's Snipe 2

When the cold returns its going to really hurt.
Turtles were crowded on all the logs. A few frogs were singing.
I saw a butterfly in Cape Hills Unit.
And on the way back home, beside 268, I saw a blooming daffodil.
