Robert Dever and I spent part of today, March 23,
birding the Woodburn/Richpond area of southern Warren
County.  Highlights of the day were the light-morph
harlani wintering at the WKU Farm, male Merlin at
Petros Pond, at least THIRTY Vesper Sparrows in
scattered flocks of up to six or more birds, and four
Brewer's Blackbirds.  Other birds of interest
included:

Ruddy Duck    5 Griffin Park
DC Cormorant  8 fly-over
Least Sandpiper Petros Pond
Pectoral Sandpiper App 45 at Petros and Walton's Ponds
E Collared-Dove Richpond
P Martins, Tree, Barn, and Rough-winged Swallows
A Pipits  100+ scattered
L Shrike Bogle Rd

Am Wigeon

Redhead 2 Petros
Lesser Yellowlegs
Pectoral Sandpiper 2 Petros 16 Chaney

Savannah Sparrow scattered and numerous
Rusty Blackbird appr 100 Chaney

March 17 Sloughs WMA Henderson County and Morganfield
Area/Union County

All dabbler species plus Ring-necked Duck, Lesser
Scaup, Bufflehead, and Hooded Merganser.

Rough-legged Hawk  dark-morph Morganfield
Red-tailed Hawk calurus dark-morph Klondike Rd
calurus light-morph adult Morganfield

Greater Yellowlegs  Appr 30 scattered Sloughs
Am. Tree Sparrow Sloughs
Rusty Blackbird 300-400 Sloughs

March 22  Chaney/Woodburn Area

C Goose
Wood Duck
GW and BW Teal
Mallard
Gadwall 
Shoveler
Sandhill Crane 25 fly-over
