Lesser Scaup continue to be well represented on the reservoirs in
Lexington. There were as many as 70 scattered about, and a large raft of
about 200 ducks at the far end of #4(1.2 mile away) appeared to be 2/3
Scaup, likely lesser. The only other birds in the raft that I could make
out were Ruddy and Horned Grebe. Other ducks scattered about were: 28
Ruddy, a pair of Redhead, 3 pair of Northern Shoveler, 2 pair of
Bufflehead, a single Common Goldeneye, 9 male Red-breasted Mergansers
(the punk rocker of water fowl), and numerous Hooded Mergansers. A
sizeable flock of Ring-billed Gull still exist, numbering up to 200 on
occasions. One Bonaparte's has been present off and on, but was not seen
this weekend.=20
