Yesterday things improved at Marydale.  I watched for an hour or I would
have missed the Northern Pintail and Wood Duck:

8 Lesser Scaups (7 male and 1 female)
6 Hooded Mergansers (2 Male and 3 female)
1 Northern Pintail briefly swam out from the cove on the right
1 Wood duck up along the back shore.....hard to see
1 Pied-billed Grebe
2 Cooper's Hawks
1 Red-tailed Hawk

Camp Ernst was a real bust....only 3 Coots, 1 Killdeer,  and some of the
resident ducks.  There was a fisherman out on the lake.  Given that there
has been very little activity even without the fishing, I don't think it
mattered.
