GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER FIELD TECHS (3) AND CREWLEADER:
A field crew is needed to assist in a study of the habitat, distribution,
and breeding ecology of the Golden-winged Warbler and Blue-winged Warbler on
reclaimed mine lands in southeastern Kentucky.  The Golden-winged Warbler is
currently a species of special concern and is under review for listing as
Threatened or Endangered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  We are
studying recently discovered breeding populations of Golden-winged Warblers
in Kentucky. 
Primary Duties: surveying birds by sight and sound, territory mapping,
mist-netting, banding, nest searching and monitoring, vegetation surveying,
and data entry.  
Qualifications:  candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and detail
oriented.  Applicant must be in good physical condition and enjoy early
mornings, long workdays, rugged terrain, and venomous snakes.  Preference
will be given to those who have experience with nest searching,
identification of eastern birds, and vegetation surveying.
Salary: Technicians: $1,000/month, Crewleader: Based upon experience
           Housing and vehicles provided.
Start Dates: Technicians: 5/1/05  Crewleader: 4/15/05
