25 March 2004:

It has come to my attention that the Warbler and associated KOS Spring
Meeting Information Flyer will not be delivered to the membership for at
least 2 weeks. Recall that the Spring meeting of KOS is to be held 23 - 25
April at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park. There is one activity
option for KOS members that requires pre-registration. For that reason, I
am sending this announcement related to that meeting activity.

Ed Ray, who is known to some of the membership, will be a secondary speaker
on Saturday night regarding Osprey nesting on the lakes. As an enhancement
to the usual array of field trips, KOS is working with Ray as a private
vendor to provide cruises to those interested. Cruise will visit Osprey
nest sites and will also provide some close up viewing of the Kuttawa Island
Egret Rookery.

Cruises are tentatively scheduled as follows: Saturday at 8:00 AM, 11:00
AM, and 2:00 PM and on Sunday at 10:00 AM. Each cruise will cost $20 per
participant. There is a minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 participants per
trip. In addition, Mr. Ray needs at least 4 advance registrations to
justify the cost of moving his boat from Lake Barkley State Park to Kuttawa.
All cruises will be on Mr. Ray's 23 foot deck boat.

If you wish to obtain more information you may contact Ed Ray at
edrayosprey@xxxxxxxxxx Registrations may be made by sending a check for $20
per person, indicating the trip time you prefer to:

Ed Ray
Post Office Box 3
Dawson Springs, KY 42408

More detailed information will be provided in the flyer with the upcoming
Warbler. Since this is something new to KOS, we have no idea how it will go
over. It could be that all trips will be filled before the flyer arrives in
the mail or there might not be sufficient interest to justify moving the
boat. All I can advise you to do is to register if you know that this
opportunity is for you.

Hope to see you there.

Mark
