I spent part of the day hoping to catch some of the
rare gulls in the area of the boat ramp for photos. 
Naturally , they were all just below the dam on the
western side and out of good camera range. I was able
to obtain some decent video however.  Birds of
particular interest observed today include:

Red-throated Loon (2)    Above dam
California Gull  adult   
Glaucous Gull    1st yr. Above dam
Thayer's Gull    1st yr.
Lesser Black-backed Gull  1st yr. and 1 or 2 adults

Another highlight was a gorgeous Olympia Marble, a
life butterfly for me.
