A trip to the Red River Gorge March 19-21, uncovered a few early spring
arrivals. The majority of sightings were during the nice weather, early on the
20th;
2 Blue-headed Vireos (1 at Rock Bridge and 1 singing behind the Natural
Bridge SP lodge), 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches (Rock Bridge), 5 Golden-crowned
Kinglets (Rock Bridge), 1 Black-throated Green Warbler (tied with state early
spring
date? - Rock Bridge), 30 Pine Warblers & 20 Eastern Phoebes (many scattered
locations from the SP and around the RRG loop). Also a pair of Wood Ducks at
Creation Falls and 1 Wild Turkey (21st) along Rock Bridge Rd.
